The best way to reach Skydive Cairns City dropzone is by car or you can also get a cab to reach there. From the Cairns Airport, the Skydive Cairns Dropzone is just a 15-minute ride. You just have to drive along the water following Lake street and Abbott Street. From there, take a left onto Spence Street. 

The nearest bus stop is at Spence street and the nearest train station is the Cairns station, both of which are short 5-minute and 16-minute walks from the dropzone, making it easily accessible by public transport as well.

What to Expect at Skydive Cairns City Dropzone?

You should ensure that you reach the Skydive Cairns city facility at least 15-20 minutes before your allotted time. Before the skydive, you will be required to fill in some paperwork and go through a health check-up. Ensure that you carry a valid government ID to the diving centre.

The next step will be to meet your licensed tandem skydiving instructor. You will be acquainted with the appropriate body positions to adapt and the signs that the instructor will use to communicate mid-air.

The next step will be the tandem fall. Before experiencing the adrenaline rush, you will be attached with a harness to a jumpmaster. After taking the leap you will be falling at a speed of almost 200 kmph, after which the chute will be deployed and you will have 5-7 minutes to take in the breathtaking views of the ocean, the Daintree Forest, and the Great Reef.
