Know MoreFor all first-time divers out there- Tandem Skydiving is the way to go! Here you'll be accompanied by an instructor who is well- trained and knows exactly how to make the experience more comfortable for you.
By going for the tandem skydive, a professional, licensed skydiver will be attached to you by a harness. The jump will be controlled entirely by them, allowing you to happily enjoy the view. All it takes is 30 minutes of training and instructions regarding body movements to adapt and safety rules to follow after which, you can get ready to make the jump!
Indoor skydiving is the answer to your question: what if I don’t want to jump out of a plane? For those who are sceptical about skydiving or would like to experience flying without the commitment of actually freefalling from 10,000 ft. in the sky, indoor skydiving at iFly Dubai is your best bet.
Strap on your goggles, jumpsuit, earplugs, and other protective gear to fly! Powerful vertical tunnels are flooded with heavy winds to hold you up, which gives you the feeling of actually flying. The wind helps simulate a situation where you’re held up in the air without having to freefall. Your flying instructor at iFly Dubai will coach you on how to skydive indoors, including the best movements for your body. Both first-time skydivers and experienced flyers can try indoor skydiving.
Solo skydiving welcomes all experts and professionals who are capable of doing a jump on their own from start to finish. It is opted by those who have previous experience and/or a skydiving license. Unlike tandem skydiving, you take full control of your dive. From the jump to parachute deployment and landing - solo skydiving covers it all!
Solo skydiving is open to beginners as well. This requires you to undergo intensive training, where you learn about the different equipment functionalities, exiting the aeroplane, controlling the freefall, making a safe landing and lots more.
Among several factors that play into your skydive, the weather is the most important one! Depending on the weather and availability of slots, your reserved skydive experience may move up or down. It is recommended to book slots early in the morning, around 7 AM to plan your day accordingly. You’ll be required to sign a few forms and complete the training session if the weather looks good.
Get enough rest before skydiving. It is normal to have a sleepless night before an exciting activity like this, but a good night’s sleep will help you enjoy this activity better. Ensure that you eat light and pack some snacks which will help you keep calm and grounded. Wear loose-fitted clothes so that you’ll feel comfortable the whole day. Yoga pants, leggings, a T-shirt and a long-sleeved shirt or tops would be ideal for this experience.
Your Dubai skydive experience begins as soon as you reach the facility. Since the experience is strictly dated and timed all guests are advised to check in about 15-20 minutes before their assigned slot, to complete the required documents on time. Following this, you’ll undertake a routine health check-up where the crew will access your height, weight, age, and other relevant factors.
About half an hour before you board the plane, you will be introduced to your instructor who will walk you through the whole procedure, give you a safety briefing, walk you through the best positions for the free fall that is soon to come and help you put on your harness. You will be accompanied by a camera flyer who will interview you prior to boarding. While the solo skydivers jump alone, all tandem skydivers will be accompanied by a trained professional attached to them by a harness. The instructor controls the jump, parachute deployment and landing completely.
You will then be taken to the boarding area, taking pictures all the while, as safety checks are conducted on all equipment and the aircraft itself. You will then board your aircraft and, as you ascend, get to marvel at breathtaking views of the surrounding areas. The ride on the way up is 20 minutes long and right before you reach exit altitude, a whopping 13,000 ft or 4,000 m, you will be harnessed to the front of your instructor, checked over once more before jumping from the aircraft.
The entire skydiving experience lasts about 5-7 minutes. Following the freefall, which lasts about 60 seconds, you will get a few minutes to enjoy the incredible views 13,000 feet up in the air. Once the parachute is deployed you gently soar over Earth for about 5-7 minutes before landing.
During the landing stage, float back to the base while enjoying a 360-degree view of the captivating scenery around you. Upon reaching the base, you can collect photos and a specially edited video of your skydive experience.
